Dec 11, 2008Nasser Entertainment Group Options “The Building”
Joseph Nasser with the Nasser Entertainment Group optioned “The Building” from wordsmith Tracy Charlton, after discovering the script on InkTip. Joe Nasser liked the premise when he read it, but he started his conversation by asking the writer if she’d be willing to make some changes if he provided her with notes. She obliged, getting the script exactly to where Joe needed it – so he optioned it, and the project is literally being cast as you read this. Nasser already has a prolific list of credits on his resume, including over ten independent features produced or released in the last year alone. Some recent titles include “Christmas Crash,” starring Michael Madsen (“Kill Bill,” “Reservoir Dogs”) and the beautiful Alexandra Paul (“Baywatch Hawaii”). Also in casting now for production early next year is “Courage.” And this latest project is just one of a handful of recent films he’s made with InkTip-sourced scripts or writers, so look forward to seeing both their names again in upcoming newsletters!
Dec 11, 2008New Palace Films Options “The Book of Job”
Gabriel Horn with New Palace Films has optioned the feature comedy script “The Book of Job” by Andy Cies after discovering it on InkTip. Now you may be asking yourself, “Someone wrote a comedy based on the Book of Job? Seriously?” Gabriel, who was looking for a faith-based script that would appeal to a mainstream audience, said, “There are plenty of ‘Job’ scripts available, but Andy’s script stuck out precisely because it was listed as a comedy! My first thought was [that] either this is going to be a very clever and well-written script, or it’s going to be a terrible waste of time. To say the least, this is one of the best scripts I’ve ever read! I knew I’d found the perfect film project.” Writer Cies described the process which led to this option: “After a year of writing and editing ‘Job,’ I sent it out to a few screenwriting competitions and was fortunate enough to win an award, which led to another year of editing and rewriting. Throughout this process, InkTip proved a better resource than I could’ve hoped for – much more than the 150-plus query letters I sent out!”
Of course, placing the script on InkTip may have resulted in an option, but it was his diligence in rewriting the script that really made the story perfect for New Palace Films. Gabriel Horn joined InkTip with over ten years of production experience under his belt and will be co-producing this feature with Gavin Wilding and Rampage Entertainment. This is Andy Cies’ first option.
Dec 11, 2008Babylon United Options “Friday America”

Wszelaki has a couple other projects underway that he discovered through InkTip, including another Arthur Nikolayev script.
Dec 4, 2008Hudson Agency Signs Eric Steele
Sue Giordano with the Hudson Agency discovered scribe Eric Steele's horror script "Demophobia" on InkTip and has entered into an agreement to represent him. This isn't Steele's first brush with success through InkTip; he's had three previous options through the site, so it's about time an agent discovered him! Sue Giordano, meanwhile, is a WGA signatory agent listed in the directories and has discovered two other writers on the site in just the last year, proving yet again that an agent can find the best scripts first just by staying on top of the recent InkTip listings. Sue says Steele is an excellent writer, and given her experience and standing in the industry, we believe her!

Daniel Zirilli of Popart Film Factory optioned the Western screenplay "Wanted: Dead" from InkTip scribe Paul Kennedy, and it is slated to go into production in the summer of 2009. Zirilli is already an InkTip veteran, having just returned from Italy where he won the "Guirlande D'Honneur" for "Best Sports Movie of 2008" for directing "Fast Girl," also written by a writer he discovered through InkTip. "I was asked by a studio to direct a Western -- which is a dream come true -- so I searched InkTip for the right script and connected with Paul Kennedy,” Zirilli states. “He is from Ireland, and ‘Wanted: Dead’ really had a fresh take on this very American genre while still hitting all of the beats I needed to satisfy the genre and the distributor." Zirilli is also developing projects with long time collaborator Glase Lomond and Bobby Mort, both of whom he also discovered on InkTip, so stay tuned for more announcements.

Nov 27, 2008Peter Proffit Pictures Hires InkTip Scribe for Feature
Producer Max Perrier of Peter Proffit Pictures has hired InkTip scribe Arturo Armando Cuellar to develop and write a gritty urban feature drama set in the Bronx. According to Perrier, “InkTip’s search engine really helped me narrow the lead to the best writers possible for this subject.” This is Cuellar’s first writing assignment. Arturo has nine scripts on InkTip in five different genres. “Max read my script ‘Men Don’t Cry’ on InkTip and liked my writing; [it’s a] Hispanic-type script,” says Cuellar. “I have been getting a lot of reads and script downloads on InkTip. Thanks for the service you provide. All communication with Max Perrier has been remote. Who says you need to move to Hollywood?”
Nov 20, 2008Abrams Artists Signs Another InkTip Writer
Amy Wagner and Ron Gwiazda of Abrams Artists Agency discovered yet another great script on InkTip! After Wagner saw Rosa Turner Boschen’s logline for the family comedy “All I Want for Christmas,” she read the script and signed the writer within 24 hours. Boschen (previously writing as Rosa Turner Knapp) is an award-winning, multi-published writer and novelist with seven screenplay options under her belt - four of which took place through InkTip. Amy Wagner and Ron Gwiazda, meanwhile, work with a variety of genres and sources for material; for example, they recently completed the film deal for Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play “August: Osage County.” According to Wagner, “when we saw the logline for ‘All I Want for Christmas,’ it sounded exactly like what we were looking for. We immediately read the script and fell in love with it! Charming story plus strong writing that's a perfect fit for the four-quadrant family market,” she continues. “We started reading it in the morning and the second we finished, we instantly reached out to Rosa. By the afternoon, she was a client. We are going to go out quickly with Rosa's holiday script ‘All I Want for Christmas,’ and we will be reading all of her other material too.”
