Hamilton, Ontario, Canada is a major destination for film and television productions. Shows like The Handmaid’s Tale, The Shape of Water, Spotlight, Crimson Peak, Suicide Squad, The Hulk and Robocop are just a few films that have taken advantage of Hamilton’s many incredible locations. Producers love the additional tax credits, Directors love the “anywhere is here” look of the city, and people love seeing it on screen! You will also have the opportunity to meet with the people who run the film office, should you wish to film in our great city!.

Model N Movie International Short Film Festival is constantly changing and growing from the year of 2015. MNMISFF started in 2015 at the National Level but with time, as public demands grew, we were urged to take this festival to a Global level to let people join from every corner of the Globe. Our vision is to shape up and promote a film industry that values talent to generate sources of income for the needy and deserving. A set-up like this is essential for a peaceful social state which in turn will lead to intellectual development of people guided by proper and adequate education. So, one of our goals is an all-round development of society - both economically and intellectually. Economic and intellectual developments play a key role in the advancement of human civilization - thus enriching the human civilization and retaining - while progressing - the integrity of its history.
We feel proud to have been able to win the hearts of many participants in the previous years and we hope to win more and more hearts in future.

Turning nine in 2019, QWFF includes an annual multi day/multi venue festival, youth-oriented educational initiatives and year round screening opportunities for QWFF filmmakers, past and present. The festival is programmed in thematic blocks with evocative titles, and each program is followed by a post-screening dialogue to engage audiences from the demographically diverse communities that comprise the borough of Queens. Each year the festival has a very robust submission session, with films coming from all over the globe, 63 nations to date, including Cuba, Franc, Spain, Serbia, Korea, Bangladesh, China, Italy, the Ukraine, Iran, Scotland, Belgium, Finland and the UK to name just a few.

In every year’s festival there are tender films, heartbreaking films, and several works that are extremely provocative, maybe even, disturbing and the selections tie us into conversations people are having around the world via the real stars of the festival: the films. It’s about surrendering to the films, without looking for familiar names, titles, scores. It’s about creating the right context for personal, intimate films grouped together for a cinematic experience you will not get anywhere else on the planet.

The 9th Annual Queens World Film Festival returns to the Museum of the Moving Image in both the Redstone theatre and the Bartos screening room as well as the historic Zukor Theatre at the Kaufman Astoria Studios located right next door for 11 days of exciting indie films - March 21 - 31, 2019. Strategically placed between the two venues is the fabled Astor Room with incredible food and special discounts just for QWFF participants and attendees. The festival village is located in the Astoria Arts District which is subway close and easy to find via foot or in your car (Yes, there is street and metered parking!)

Artemis Motion Pictures brings you the first film festival dedicated to honoring female action and empowerment heroes.

We celebrate powerful women taking action onscreen. From female action heroes to female activists, we shine a spotlight on women in narrative, documentary and animated films who are fearless, fierce, and revolutionary.

AWIAFF extols the women who kick ass and change culture! Film has both the power to entertain and to awaken - to awaken awareness of the dynamic and powerful roles of women in our society and throughout the world. Our festival mission is to both kick ass and open minds.

All narrative, animated, and documentary films featuring women starring or co-starring as a physical action and/or empowerment characters are welcome at Artemis. All categories are competition categories with awards in each category.

2018 HIGHLIGHTS
Artemis was very proud to have Paul Feig present our 2018 edition. He was joined by sponsors CAA, LA Weekly, Agenda Magazine, Citi, Final Draft, Habibi Bath & Body, and others.

The festival recognized Actress Michelle Rodriguez, Actress Ming-Na Wen, Director Rosemary Rodriguez, Director/Stuntman TJ Scott, Actress Dana DeLorenzo and stunt performers Debbie Evans, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Danielle Burgio, Kachina Dechert, Heidi Pascoe and Cassandra Ebner for their excellence in the female action genre.

The fourth edition was kicked off with The Artemis Awards Gala. Strong female characters were the theme and the lineup of action heroines and stuntwomen that showed up on the black carpet to receive their due at the awards presentation was impressive. Arrivals included all 2018 honorees as well as David Mazouz, Dot Marie Jones, Victoria Smurfit, Richard Portnow, Kristanna Loken, Yancy Butler, Zoe Bell and many others too numerous to mention.

A big highlight during arrivals was Dot Marie Jones—a cast member of the 2018 AWIAFF award-winning film Combat Nuns: All or Nothing surprised everyone when she drove on the sidewalk and parked her Harley right on the black carpet. The stunned crowd was delighted as Jones, dressed in a nun’s habit, took a drag off her cigar. Artemis Women In Action Film Festival Director Melanie Wise and the evening’s host Grace Parra hopped onboard the bike with Dot as the cameras snapped in a frenzy of excitement.

The festival received submissions from 32 countries, screened 78 films, expanded the number of screens as well as the panels and workshops offered. The filmmaker competition awards were expanded to recognize outstanding stunt work and choreography.

The panels included Artemis’ signature All-Stars of Stunts and Warrior Women panels. In honor of the #MeToo movement, the edition included A Sex Type Thing panel discussion hosted by August McLaughlin. The 2018 edition also included a cannabis panel discussion hosted by Windy Borman and two workshops on indie film financing, hosted by Ms. In The Biz and Seed N Spark.

The Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza M.I.C.E. aims to be one of Melbourne's leading cinema extravaganza, raising awareness and celebrating these wonderful totem animals- Mice.

It will attract filmmakers from all around the world and celebrate their brilliant creations. With a strong focus on all the millions of life saving mice who sacrifice their lives to the research and study of terminal illnesses/cancer world wide.

It is a unique platform for new talent and a celebration of cinematic creativity, innovation and extravagance with artists new creations being judged right here in Melbourne City.

Films with a focus on terminal illness will be welcomed to help, educate, raise awareness, and bring hope to all the sufferers and families.
Art, Music and Film is a dynamic, healing way to help sufferers and their families as well as entertain all those who come along to this wonderful celebration.

A celebration that will engage, entertain, enlighten and bring together local and International films and give recognition to these wonderful, remarkable, brave little animals with a big, corageous heart.

“I came up with this film festival idea whilst at my screening of my first film in my trilogy, FATE-It is what it is! This was at the 2013 New York City Independent Film Festival, in Time Square. New York is filled with masses of people running in all directions- like mice! Very similar to Mice in cages of scientific research and health trials. These humans were like mice, all going somewhere, doing something and 95% of them chasing their own creation and creativity. And almost 50% having suffered or been scared with terminal illness at some point in their lives. I came back to Melbourne city and saw the same thing. We are all mice and these amazing totem animals of this festival have such a significance to our lives. They are life-saving!
I want this festival to begin to bring awareness just to how lucky we are to have mice in our life and celebrate their existence in a Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza- MICE.
It was the beginnings of creating brilliance. Don't wait – Create! And we shall do just that with all the amazing courage of all of us working as a team of creative little mice, exhibiting dynamic, wonderful, International films and in turn celebrate the life-saving mice!”
R Lobosco.
